The National Scholarship Providers Association is seeking a membership professional to join our small, fun-loving, high achieving team. NSPA's focus area is working to strengthen the impact of scholarships and the organizations delivering support to students. NSPA operates 100% virtually and supports flexible schedules for our staff, as well as providing a rich benefit and PTO package.

About the job - our Member Services Coordinator ensures our members have an exceptional and seamless experience when joining, renewing, and seeking support. Specifically, the MemberServices Coordinator is responsible for all administrative components of membership including application processing, activation/cancellation, dues billing, data management and reporting, as well as providing general member assistance. This position is accountable for implementing processes to ensure continuity, ongoing accuracy of membership records and dues payments; and, maintaining the overall integrity and reliability of data in NSPAs data management system.

Key Responsibilities Include:

Member Recruitment:

  • Responds to membership inquiries and performs active follow up to ensure conversion of the prospect into a member.
  • Identifies prospect opportunities through NSPA sponsored or other relevant industry events and ensures marketing materials are present.
  • Represents NSPA at conferences.
  • Develops strategy to contact prospects who attend programs and/or purchase products and services. Includes direct mail and telephone marketing.
  • Actively searches websites for prospects and inputs information into database.

Member Retention:

  • Manages the new member engagement experience, including the New Member WelcomeCommittee
  • Ensures accurate and up to date member information in the database.
  • Implements campaigns directed at renewing lapsed and expired members.
  • Responds to telephone and electronic inquiries concerning membership and services.
  • Develops and leads the new member and/or prospective member orientations.

Other:

  • Processes mail and supports general accounting through bank deposits and AP/AR preparation.
  • Provides administrative support to NSPA operations as directed by the Executive Director.
  • Provides administrative support as needed for the NSPAs annual conference.
  • Manages NSPAs charitable solicitations/fundraising renewal process
  • Prepares reports for the ED and board as directed
  • Other duties as assigned.

  • Maintain records electronically, according to the guidance and policy of the organization.
  • Perform responsibilities in alignment with organization mission, goals, and strategic plan, as appropriate.
  • Travel approximately 2-4 times per year.
  • Bachelors degree preferred; 1 yearsexperience working for an Association also preferred.
  • Experience working with databases required, preferably membership databases such as YM.
  • Experience working remotely preferred.
